The European Tree of the Year grows in Vysočina. It is the Chudobín pine

chudobínská boroviceThe Chudobín pine, situated on a rock spur in the Vír Reservoir in Vysočina, won the title of the European Tree of the Year. People gave it 47,226 votes. Second place was awarded to Croatia’s maidenhair tree, which received 28,060 votes. Third place went to Russia’s poplar, which received 27,411 votes. Our pine therefore beat fifteen other winners of national competitions by a large margin.
