Jihlava region

JihlavaThe Jihlava region forms the central part of the Vysočina region with the county town of Jihlava. The town is a natural centre of the region and a significant traffic junction that is crossed by the D1 Highway. Its location basically in the middle between Prague and Brno creates a significant and suitable place for organising all types of corporate meetings.

The centre of Jihlava is a city conservation area with more than two hundred preserved buildings and one of the biggest historic squares in the Czech Republic and central Europe. The Jihlava region is not only about the town of Jihlava, it also includes the enchanting nearby town of Telč with its UNESCO monuments, which offers the desired peace for meetings and enough possibilities for cultural life.

Between Telč and Třešť, in the woods there is Roštejn Castle. The town of Třešť is known for its nativity scenes and its two-hundred-year tradition of nativity scene making. In Polná, you can find one of the biggest Baroque churches in the Czech Republic – the Dean Temple of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Lovers of good food can taste the local specialty – carrot pies or “Mrkvánky” at the so-called “Mrkvancobraní” fair. They cannot be tasted anywhere else and also gave the name to the Mrkvancová pilgrimage at the beginning of September.

In Jihlava and its close surroundings, you can find hotels comfortably located in the centre of the town as well as facilities which are only a few steps away from the countryside or which, on the contrary, lie immediately next to the exit from the D1 Highway. Come to the heart of the Vysočina region and find the best place for you.
